Your Local Roofing Contractor
In Ivyland, a roof isn’t just a roof. On many homes it’s a steep mansard slope lined with dormers, a nearly flat top hidden from the street, and a cornice with a gutter built right into it. DaVinci Roofing & Gutters understands how those pieces work together, and we help Ivyland homeowners repair them, replace them, and keep water out of the walls. Every project starts with a free inspection and an honest explanation of what your house needs.
We install and repair asphalt shingles, slate and synthetic slate, cedar shake, standing seam metal, copper, and flat systems in EPDM, TPO, and modified bitumen. We also install siding, trim, and fascia and hang seamless and half-round gutters with guards. What Our Customers Say
We’ve been in our home for over 20 years and working with David and his team from Davinci Roofing and gutters was the best experience we’ve had with any contractor. His pricing was fair, he was always on time and responded to texts and calls quickly answering our questions. The quality of the installation of our new roof was outstanding. On the day of our install I took off to be home. David was on site all day, and provided us with drone pictures of our home showing each step of the process. This gave us visibility to any issues found on the roof and we could see the progress of the job. David even replaced a small section of siding for us, at no charge, that was damaged. Our satisfaction was most important to him and we very much appreciated his desire to do the job right. At the end of the day his team cleaned up as if they had never been there. I would highly recommend Davinci Roofing.

Ivyland is the smallest borough in Bucks County, covering just over a third of a square mile between Warminster and Northampton townships. Edwin Lacey, a Quaker, founded it in 1873, laid out a grid of streets, and planted fast-growing silver maples to shade them. Lacey required early buildings to have mansard roofs, and many of those Victorian homes remain. The Ivyland Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, and newer construction in the borough has generally kept a period look.
Mansard roofs are handsome but demanding. The steep lower slopes and low-slope tops meet at a curb or transition that needs careful flashing, and dormers cut into the steep sides create more seams to seal. Many mansards were originally slate, and slate or synthetic slate remains the natural choice when the sides need attention. The upper sections usually do best with a modern membrane that ties cleanly into the slopes below.
Built-in gutters are another Victorian detail that causes trouble as it ages. When a lining fails, water can soak into the cornice and wall framing long before it shows inside. Relining or rebuilding the gutter, or switching to half-round gutters where that suits the house, can head off expensive repairs. Porches, brackets, and decorative trim also need sound paint and flashing to stay dry.
The silver maples that shade Ivyland’s streets drop leaves and winged seeds into gutters and valleys every year, and their limbs can come down in storms. Add freeze-thaw winters, ice dams at cold eaves, and gusty summer thunderstorms, and a regular maintenance routine is one of the best investments an Ivyland homeowner can make. Gutter guards, a fall cleaning after the maples drop their leaves, and a quick check of the mansard tops each spring go a long way.

How We Replace a Roof
Our process is built around the extra details older homes bring.
Step 1
Old roofing is removed with care so trim, brackets, porches, and gardens stay protected.
Step 2
Worn decking is replaced, and curbs, eaves, and valleys are sealed against ice and water.
Step 3
A continuous underlayment layer backs up every slope before finished roofing goes on.
Step 4
Roofing and flashing are installed with extra attention at mansard transitions and dormer cheeks.
Commercial Roofing
Ivyland’s churches, small businesses, and multi-unit homes, along with the commercial properties in neighboring Warminster and Northampton, all need roofs they can count on. Many of these buildings include flat or low-slope sections that collect water and debris if they aren’t maintained, and on older structures those roofs may have been covered over more than once.
DaVinci Roofing & Gutters installs, repairs, and maintains EPDM, TPO, and modified bitumen roofing. We find leaks, restore seams and flashing, correct ponding and drainage issues, and help owners plan maintenance so small problems don’t become emergencies. On older buildings, we check the deck and any earlier roof layers before recommending a fix, and we keep you informed throughout the project.
Warning Signs
On Victorian houses, trouble often begins at transitions, dormers, and cornices. Watch for:
Fixing these early protects the cornices, trim, and plaster that give Ivyland homes their character.
Preventative Maintenance
On a historic house, the most important parts of the roof are often the hardest to see. A cracked slate high on a mansard slope, a split in a built-in gutter lining, or loose flashing where the steep sides meet the top can all let water in for months before anything shows up indoors.
Many Ivyland homes have also been repaired piecemeal over more than a century. A patch of shingles here, a coat of roof coating there, and it’s hard to know what’s underneath without a close look. An inspection sorts out which repairs are holding and which are hiding problems.
We check the roof covering on every slope, flashing, curbs, dormers, chimneys, built-in and hanging gutters, soffits, and fascia. Where we can reach it safely, we look at the attic or roof framing for signs of moisture. You’ll get photos and a plain explanation of what we found and what, if anything, needs to happen next.
Our recommendations are honest. Sometimes a few slates and new flashing will buy many more years. Sometimes a section needs to be replaced. Either way, you’ll understand why, and there’s never pressure to decide on the spot.

FAQ
It depends on the damage, the material, and access. Working on a steep mansard slope or with slate is priced differently from a simple shingle repair. We provide free inspections and a written estimate before any work begins.
Yes. We work on the steep slopes, low-slope tops, dormers, and the transitions between them, using slate, synthetic slate, shingles, or membrane roofing as each section requires.
We can reline or rebuild built-in gutters, or talk through converting to half-round gutters where that suits the house. Either approach stops water from soaking cornices and wall framing.
They can. Leaves and seeds clog gutters and valleys, and overhanging limbs can scrape or puncture roofing. Gutter guards and regular cleaning help, and we can point out limbs worth having trimmed.
Yes. We respond quickly, tarp active leaks, photograph the damage, and can meet your adjuster before completing repairs.
