Your Local Roofing Contractor
Etra is a small place with a long memory, a village tucked into the eastern side of East Windsor Township where homes old and new share the same quiet roads. Whatever age your house is, its roof has the same job: keep water out through snow, wind, and summer downpours. DaVinci Roofing & Gutters helps Etra homeowners repair leaks, replace roofs that have reached the end of the line, and keep gutters and trim in good order.
We install asphalt shingles, synthetic slate, cedar shake, and standing seam metal, along with seamless gutters and gutter guards that stand up to leaf-heavy autumns. Before we recommend anything, we inspect the roof for free and walk you through what we see. If a full replacement is the right call, financing options are available to make it easier to plan. You’ll deal with the same people from the first visit to the final cleanup, and you’ll always know what’s happening on your roof and why.

What Our Customers Say
We’ve been in our home for over 20 years and working with David and his team from Davinci Roofing and gutters was the best experience we’ve had with any contractor. His pricing was fair, he was always on time and responded to texts and calls quickly answering our questions. The quality of the installation of our new roof was outstanding. On the day of our install I took off to be home. David was on site all day, and provided us with drone pictures of our home showing each step of the process. This gave us visibility to any issues found on the roof and we could see the progress of the job. David even replaced a small section of siding for us, at no charge, that was damaged. Our satisfaction was most important to him and we very much appreciated his desire to do the job right. At the end of the day his team cleaned up as if they had never been there. I would highly recommend Davinci Roofing.

Local Roofing Experts
Etra grew up around a gristmill that John Cosinari built on Rocky Brook in the early 1770s. To power the waterwheel, he dammed the brook, creating Etra Lake. By the mid-1800s, the settlement had homes, stores, a blacksmith, small factories, and a hotel. The village went by Scrabbletown and Milford before being renamed Etra after 1890, in honor of local judge and assemblyman Edward Taylor Rosel Applegate. Today, Etra Lake Park anchors the eastern part of East Windsor Township.
That mix of history and open space shapes the roofs we see here. Older homes near the village center often have been reroofed several times, with layers of material and patchwork flashing hidden underneath. Newer homes nearby face different issues, like builder-grade shingles and ventilation that was never quite enough. We inspect each house on its own terms rather than assuming what’s under the shingles.
Being close to the lake, the brook, and park woodlands means shade, humidity, and plenty of leaves. Shaded roof slopes stay damp longer, which can encourage moss and algae, and gutters clogged with leaves can back water under the roof edge. Gutter guards, well-placed downspouts, and trimmed branches go a long way toward protecting shingles and fascia.
Winters bring freeze-thaw cycles and the ice dams that follow, while summer storms can send wind-driven rain sideways under loose shingles. We build every roof to handle both, with ice and water barrier at the eaves and valleys and secure, properly sealed shingles.
Fascia and soffits deserve a look, too. On homes where gutters have overflowed for a few seasons, the wood behind them often softens and invites insects or animals into the eaves. We replace damaged boards, wrap or refinish trim as needed, and reset gutters with the right pitch so water heads for the downspouts instead of the walls.
Our Services
The exterior work your home needs, from a single leak to a new roof.
We find the real source of a leak, whether it’s a vent boot, chimney, or old patch, and fix it so it stays fixed.
When it’s time for a new roof, we tear off old layers, inspect the deck, and install a system suited to your home and budget.
Low-slope porch roofs and additions get EPDM, TPO, or modified bitumen roofing designed for water that drains slowly.
After wind, hail, or a falling limb, we secure your home quickly and help document damage for your insurer.
Seamless gutters and guards keep leaves out and water flowing, a real advantage on wooded, shaded lots.
Vinyl, fiber cement, or cedar siding with new trim and fascia protects your walls and refreshes your home’s look.
How We Replace a Roof
Four clear stages, completed with care for your property.
Step 1
We remove old roofing and any extra layers, protecting gardens and lawns with tarps as we work.
Step 2
Soft decking is replaced, and new drip edge goes on to guard the roof edges.
Step 3
Ice and water barrier lines the eaves and valleys, backed by synthetic underlayment everywhere else.
Step 4
Shingles, flashing, and vents are installed to manufacturer specs, then the site is cleaned thoroughly.
Commercial Roofing
Small businesses, offices, and other properties in and around Etra and greater East Windsor count on roofs that stay watertight through every season. DaVinci Roofing & Gutters provides commercial roof repair, maintenance, and replacement sized to the building, whether it’s a single storefront or a larger facility.
We install and repair EPDM, TPO, and modified bitumen flat roofing, trace and fix leaks, and offer maintenance plans that help you avoid emergency calls. We keep work areas safe and tidy, schedule around your hours, and explain every step so you’re never guessing about what comes next. For owners who prefer to plan ahead, periodic inspections help map out repair budgets well before a leak forces the issue.
Warning Signs
On shaded, wooded lots, roof trouble can creep in quietly. Keep an eye out for:
Spotting these early is the simplest way to avoid a bigger bill later.
Preventative Maintenance
Most roof problems start small and out of sight. A lifted shingle, a split vent boot, or a gap along a chimney can let water in for months before you see a stain inside.
Around Etra, shade and leaf cover add to the risk. Damp roof surfaces, moss, and clogged gutters can quietly shorten a roof’s life, and branches overhead can scrape shingles every time the wind picks up.
During an inspection, we check shingles, flashing, vents, chimneys, skylights, gutters, fascia, and soffits, and look in the attic when it’s accessible for signs of moisture or poor ventilation.
Attic moisture is another thing we look for on homes surrounded by trees. When a roof stays cool and damp, poor ventilation can let condensation build up on the underside of the deck in winter, which slowly weakens sheathing and can stain ceilings. Balanced intake and exhaust vents usually solve the problem, and adding them during a replacement costs far less than repairing damaged decking later.
We suggest an inspection every few years, after strong storms, and whenever you notice something that doesn’t look right. You’ll get photos and a clear explanation of any issues, along with honest options and no pressure.

FAQ
No two repairs are alike. The cost reflects what failed, what the roof is made of, and how hard it is to reach. We’ll inspect it at no charge and give you a written price before we begin.
Shade keeps roofs damp longer, which can encourage moss and algae and speed up wear. Trimming overhanging branches, keeping gutters clear, and choosing algae-resistant shingles all help.
Yes. Guards keep most leaves and twigs out, so water keeps flowing and doesn’t back up under the roof edge. They cut down on cleanings, too.
If damage is limited and the roof is otherwise sound, a repair usually makes sense. If it’s aging or has widespread issues, replacement is often the better investment. We’ll tell you honestly which fits your roof.
Yes. After a storm, we photograph and record everything we find, can be on site when your adjuster visits, and handle the repairs. If the damage is minor enough that a claim isn’t worth it, we’ll say so.
